ENDOCRINOLOGIST/ DIABETES
Ms Peirounaki graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2007.
She had completed her training in internal medicine and endocrinology in Germany, working at renowned University Hospitals, like Klinikum Bogenhausen (academic hospital of the TU University in Munich), which has one of the largest “one day” endocrinology & diabetes clinics in Bavaria.
During her training in Munich, she worked on thyroid gland issues under globally acclaimed experts, such as Professor Petra-Maria Schumm-Draeger.
Also during her training in Alfried Krupp Krankenhaus (academic hospital of Duisburg-Essen University), Ms Peirounaki had the honour to work with Profesor Pfeilschifter, a world-known osteologist.
Ms Peirounaki has completed her training in 2016 when she became a specialist consultant in endocrinology & diabetes.
In the same year she submitted her dissertation and got the academic title of “Dr Med” from Ludwig Maximilian’s University in Munich, Germany.
In 2015-2017 she was in charge of the “one day ” endocrinology & diabetes clinic, in Klinikum Bogenhausen.
In 2017-2020 she worked as a consultant in endocrinology and diabetes at one of the biggest endocrinology medical centres in the city of Munich (Endokrinologikum Munchen).
Since May 2020 Ms Peirounaki has been based in Athens and working in the private practice, as well as an external associate at Mitera and Athens Eye Hospital. She also leads her own private endocrinology clinic in Ilioupoli, central Athens.
Ms Peirounaki has presented her work at international conferences and programmes and has received scholarships from endocrinological and internal medicine societies in Germany. Ms Peirounaki has also been certified as a specialist nutritionist, a specialist diabetologist and a specialist osteologist by relevant German medical societies. Ms Peirounaki takes a special interest in human reproduction endocrinology. She is a valuable new asset in Pelargos IVF team.
